EVERETT — The Snohomish County Health Department is seeking two people to serve on a Board of Health that will guide the new agency starting in 2023.
“This is an ideal space for someone who is passionate about the health and wellness of their community, and we want to have their voices on the board as we continue to look at how we can best serve all people in Snohomish County,” said Dr. James Lewis, health officer of the Snohomish Health District.
The new nine-member board must meet the following state requirements: two County Council members, two elected officials from cities, one tribal representative, one health care facility representative, one healthcare provider and two “community members.” The community members must live in Snohomish County, and at least one of them must use health services in the county.
The board will meet monthly to guide the county’s public health efforts on issues like opioids, immunizations and climate change. Anyone interested can apply now until positions are filled, with priority to applications received by Dec. 2.
